Even in its basic version, the RTM 2200 represents the perfect radon/thorium monitor for any type of radon measurement. The unit's exceptional performance becomes truly apparent when complex sampling procedures are required. Thanks to its versatile options for connecting additional sensors and actuators, a multi-parameter station can be created effortlessly. The RTM 2200 radon/thorium detector is not limited to data acquisition, but is also capable of controlling equipment required for sampling (e.g., pumps, valves, positioning, etc.).
By connecting up to four additional radon chambers (soil gas probe, indoor air sensor), a radon/thorium monitor can measure radon concentrations in different rooms. Additionally, differential pressure and temperature sensors can complete a sampling system for investigating radon transport processes in buildings and facilities.
Another application is geophysical instrumentation, where water analysis and soil gas sampling can be integrated. A NaI(Tl) gamma spectroscopic detector and/or gas sensors for carbon monoxide and combustible gases are very useful for the mining and uranium industry. There's no limit to your ideas.
The radon measurement chamber, based on the principle of high-voltage sampling, offers high sensitivity with a reduced internal volume. This is a significant advantage for thorium sensitivity and allows for a low pumping rate, which is often important (soil gas sampling).
Long-term contamination by Polonium-210, known from other measurement principles, is completely eliminated. There is no cross-sensitivity to ambient gamma radiation. Due to its special design, the camera is not sensitive to variations in ambient humidity. Drying equipment common to instruments using this principle is not required for the RTM 2200.
We use high-quality silicon radiation detectors inside the chamber to separate the various radon daughter products by alpha spectroscopy.
Quality assurance is a key concern for every radiation measurement. Therefore, the RTM 2200 radon/thorium monitor saves a complete alpha spectrum for each data record. This spectrum allows you to verify the unit's error-free operation at all times.
All results are displayed on a large screen with touch buttons. An SD memory card allows for the collection of a large amount of data if necessary. Each record will be stamped with GPS coordinates if the GPS option was selected. Data transfer is carried out via the USB port and the serial interface (RS-232). RS-232 allows the connection of mobile broadband modems. Optionally, the serial port can be replaced with an integrated wireless network adapter (Net Monitors).
The instrument is accompanied by a DAkkS-compliant calibration certificate. The calibration process meets the requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
