A recent study demonstrated that SimRT was three times more accurate than a physical surrogate method in predicting tumor motion with 4DCT. SimRT demonstrated more accurate and stable respiration tracking, leading to more realistic 4DCT reconstruction and respiration-adapted treatment planning.
Non-contact motion monitoring for 4D CT and deep breath-hold "Using SimRT in conjunction with PatientSide and Real Time Coach reduced our deep breath-hold rescan rate from 14.9% to 2.3%. This decreased the need for rescans with the associated contouring and planning work."
