The Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM) Phantom is designed to meet the need for Quality Control of contrast enhanced spectral mammography (CEDM) systems.
Breast with Iodine and Adipose Materials Fantoma CESM is made up of two types of materials.
The plate contains two sets of five inserts. Four inserts have iodine concentrations of 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mg/cm². These concentrations were chosen to cover the clinical range of iodine concentrations. The fifth insert is made of 100% glandular tissue-equivalent material. This insert is positioned in the center of each set of inserts to mimic a glandular lesion. The contrast plate consists of half 100% adipose material and half 100% glandular material to test iodine separation from the background across a wide range of densities. The upper and lower plates are made of 100% adipose material and have rounded edges to mimic the realistic shape of a compressed breast.
Anthropomorphic Features The CESM Phantom represents an average human breast in size and shape.
