Choose phantoms by the test you need to pass
Radiotherapy, dosimetry and imaging require different phantoms. Interphysix helps connect the clinical requirement to the right equipment.
This page is now organised by purpose: patient QA, commissioning, CT/imaging, electron density and constancy testing.

The right phantom depends on the endpoint
Patient QA
Plan verification, composite dose, IMRT, VMAT, SRS and SBRT.
Density and planning
CT-to-density validation, algorithms and TPS requirements.
Constancy and image quality
CTDI, mammography, MRI, ultrasound, radiography and periodic checks.
Documentable evidence
Equipment aligned with protocols, periodicity and internal criteria.
Phantom families to consider

Electron Density Phantom
Phantom for CT, electron density and treatment planning commissioning.

Start with the test
- Modality: radiotherapy, CT, mammography, MRI, radiography or ultrasound.
- Objective: acceptance, commissioning, periodic QA, audit or research.
- Criterion: resolution, geometry, dose, density, software, accessories and reporting.
Phantom FAQ
Is one universal phantom enough?
Rarely. Universal phantoms help in screening, but serious clinical QA usually needs modality and endpoint-specific phantoms.
Do ArcCHECK and MapCHECK do the same job?
No. They are complementary in many workflows: geometry, 2D/3D measurement and verification type change the choice.
Need to choose a phantom without buying redundant equipment?
Send us the modality, protocol and test objective. We will recommend the right family.
