    ISO 17025 Accreditation

The ISO/IEC 17025 standard is the international standard that defines the requirements for competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

🏆 ISO 17025 accreditation is the international guarantee that calibration results are technically valid and recognised worldwide.

    What Is ISO 17025?

ISO/IEC 17025 is an international standard published by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). It defines the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

An ISO 17025 accredited laboratory has demonstrated to an independent accreditation body that it:

    • Possesses technical competence to perform specific calibrations
    • Operates an effective quality management system
    • Ensures metrological traceability of results to national or international standards
    • Applies validated calibration methods with quantified measurement uncertainties
    • Maintains impartiality and confidentiality in all activities

    Accredited vs. Non-Accredited Calibration

    ✅ ISO 17025 Accredited Calibration

    • Certificate with accreditation body logo
    • Declared and validated measurement uncertainty
    • Documented metrological traceability
    • International recognition (ILAC MRA agreements)
    • Regular external laboratory audits
    • Accepted by regulatory authorities
    • Evidence of technical competence

    ⚠️ Non-Accredited Calibration

    • Certificate without accreditation mark
    • Uncertainty may not be declared or validated
    • Traceability may not be demonstrable
    • No guaranteed international recognition
    • No mandatory external verification
    • May not be accepted by regulators
    • Competence not independently verified

    Why Is It Important?

    📋 Regulatory Requirements
Many standards and regulations (IEC, FDA, ANVISA) require measuring equipment to be calibrated in accredited laboratories.

    🏥 Hospital Accreditation
Hospital accreditation audits (JCI, CHKS, DGS) verify the calibration of measuring and testing equipment.

    ⚖️ Legal Responsibility
In case of litigation, an ISO 17025 certificate is strong evidence of the validity of measurements performed.

    🌍 International Trade
ISO 17025 certificates are accepted worldwide through ILAC MRA mutual recognition agreements.

    Accreditation Bodies

Our calibration partners are accredited by internationally recognised bodies:

    🇸🇪 Swedac

Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment (Sweden)

    🇺🇸 A2LA

American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (USA)

    🇺🇸 NVLAP

National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (USA)

All these bodies are signatories to the ILAC MRA mutual recognition agreement, ensuring worldwide acceptance of certificates.
