The Radon Scout offers the highest sensitivity in its class, exceeding the sensitivity of its competitors many times over. This results in the lowest detection limit and the lowest statistical error. The instrument, proven thousands of times and certified by the US-EPA, will show the temporal distribution of radon even at levels below 100 Bq/m³. Therefore, meteorological influences as well as ventilation effects can be detected easily.
Due to its exceptional sensitivity, the instrument is perfectly suited for the direct control of ventilation equipment via a potential-free switching contact. As an accessory, we offer a wireless switch that can be connected directly to the instrument. Therefore, it takes very little effort to control fans, such as kitchen hoods, wall fans or window fans, anywhere in your home. It is even possible to upgrade older instruments. The switching threshold for the Radon Scout is set at the EU target value of 300 Bq/m³, while the Radon Scout PLUS allows user-specific configurations.
Two D-size batteries enable stand-alone operation over a few months. The Radon Scout PLUS radon detector offers an additional connection to an external power source. In effect, this allows operation over infinite time periods.
The size of the data memory is designed to achieve high-resolution temporal distribution. Any number of measurement series can be created. Acquired data can be loaded by a PC even if a measurement is in progress. The radon detector can be connected directly to a modem for remote data transmission.
The included Radon Vision software handles the remote connection as simply as a direct cable connection.
Due to the high sensitivity, variations in activity concentration will be accurately detected even in case of low radon levels. The radon detector operates in diffusion mode so that a possible influence of toron can be excluded. The measuring chamber, equipped with a semiconductor detector and high voltage collection, is immune to ambient humidity.
Temperature and humidity sensors (additional barometric pressure in the case of the Radon Scout PLUS) are very useful additions. The integrated tilt detector will output a signal if the radon detector has been moved from its original position during measurement.
The instrument has been certified by US-EPA/NRSB and other international authorities.
The instrument comes with a calibration certificate compliant with DAkkS. The calibration process meets the requirements of DIN ISO/IEC EN 17025:2018.
